APP FOR THE WEEK PROGRAMME

 Report on “App for the Week” Programme


The IT Club and Natural Science Students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam jointly organised the programme “App for the Week” on 18th September 2025 at 9:30 am in the General Hall of the college.


The programme was conducted as part of the initiative to introduce useful mobile applications to students and to create awareness about their features and applications in daily life. On this occasion, the app Flo was introduced. The session was presented by Aswathi K P, who explained the functions, uses, and benefits of the app to the audience.


The event was co-ordinated by Dr. K. S. Sajan, Co-ordinator of the IT Club. The session was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal in Charge.


The programme was well-received by the participants, as it provided valuable knowledge on the use of technology in improving lifestyle and health management.





REELS MAKING COMPETITION

 Report on Reels Making Competition – Onam 2K25

As part of the Onam 2K25 celebrations, the IT Club of NSS Training College, Ottapalam organised a Reels Making Competition for students. The competition was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Sajan K.S. (IT Club Coordinator) and Prof. Dr. Smitha R. (Principal in Charge), with        Vismaya Prasad K. (IT Club Secretary) and student coordinators Sumayya, Nithya, and Anusree ensuring smooth conduct.

The rules of the competition required each department to submit at least one entry, with a maximum of three entries permitted per department. The reels were to follow a semi-classical dance style, with a maximum duration of 60 seconds. All entries were submitted via WhatsApp before the deadline of 2nd September 2025, 4 pm.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various departments, showcasing the creativity and cultural spirit of the students. After careful evaluation, the winners were announced as follows:

  • First Prize: Krishna Veni S (Natural Science)

  • Second Prize: Pooja Vasanth (Social Science)

  • Third Prize: Nithya C (Mathematics)


Certificates were awarded to the winners as a mark of appreciation. The programme successfully highlighted the talent of students, celebrated the essence of Onam, and strengthened the spirit of cultural unity within the college.

                                                              

  

INTERCOLLEGIATE TEACHER'S DAY QUIZ COMPETITION

 

Report on the Intercollegiate Teachers’ Day Quiz Competition

The IT Club of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, organised an Intercollegiate Teachers’ Day Quiz Competition on September 5, 2025, in connection with Teachers’ Day celebrations. The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Principal (In-charge), Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, and the IT Club Coordinator, Dr. K. S. Sajan. The event was coordinated by the IT Club Student Secretary,          Vismaya Prasad K.

The competition was open to student teachers from various training colleges. Participation was completely free, and e-certificates were awarded to the winners. All student teachers were encouraged to join by creating a Wayground account before participating.

The quiz was designed to test the knowledge, presence of mind, and quick response skills of the participants. Several teams from different colleges took part in the competition, making it a vibrant and intellectually engaging event.

After a highly competitive session, the following participants emerged as winners:

  • First Prize: Hisana N

  • Second Prize: Harsha H Mohan (NSS Training College, Ottapalam)

  • Third Prize: Leya Susan Mathew (BSS B.Ed. Training College, Alathur)

The winners were congratulated and honoured with e-certificates. The event proved to be an enriching experience, fostering knowledge-sharing and healthy competition among student teachers from different institutions.

The Teachers’ Day Quiz was a grand success, thanks to the active participation of students, the dedicated efforts of the IT Club, and the support and guidance of the college authorities. The programme not only celebrated the spirit of Teachers’ Day but also highlighted the importance of collaborative learning and intellectual growth.

Report on APP for the Week – Math Tricks

The IT Club of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, in association with B.Ed. Mathematics optional students, organized the App for the Week programme on 12th September 2025 at 9.30 am in the General Hall.

The app featured in this session was “Math Tricks”, presented by Nithya C. The app demonstrated simple and interesting methods to solve mathematical problems quickly, such as shortcut techniques for multiplication. The presentation aimed to make mathematics easier, enjoyable, and more engaging for students.

The session was informative and interactive, helping participants to explore different tricks in solving mathematical problems effectively. It also encouraged students to adopt innovative approaches in learning and teaching mathematics.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. K. S. Sajan, Co-ordinator of the IT Club, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal-in-Charge.

The event concluded successfully with positive feedback from the participants, who appreciated the usefulness of the app in enhancing mathematical skills.
